2010 Business Plan Competition by The Paul Merage School of Business

This Entrepreneur’s Forum presentation will highlight the 2010 Business Plan Competition at The Paul Merage School of Business. It is one of the nation's premier business plan competitions offering all UC Irvine students, staff and researchers the opportunity to form a team, create a business plan and potentially fund their business idea all within seven months. This presentation will focus on describing how the competition is organized, the benefits for participants it provides and suggestions on how you can join and participate.

Charles BaeckerAbout the Speaker:
Charles Baecker, Director
As Director for the Don Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at The Paul Merage School of Business located on the campus of UC Irvine, Mr. Baecker is responsible for campus-wide programs providing education, inspiration and opportunity to students and faculty interested in entrepreneurship.

Drawing on his over 20 years experience in the Southern California computer and software industry working in senior marketing and sales roles for such companies as Prime Computer, Wonderware Software and JD Edwards, Charlie has demonstrated a distinct talent for successfully divining the needs of emerging markets and husbanding the development of new classes of product where none had previously existed.

Charlie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Southern California and a Master in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
